Due to bad weather and power outages at my publisher this Autumn, my next book in the Special Agent Series, the release of Ruby Stone in Danger in Paradise is delayed just a bit. I'm thrilled and excited to tell you that my next book in the Special Agent Series, Ruby Stone in Danger in Paradise has a release date of December 8, 2011! This book will be published by Red Rose and will be released in ebook, kindle and paperback.

I should be making an announcement soon regarding Beyond the Point, which will probably be released at the end of December or early next year.

And before the end of 2012, the next book in the "Point" series within the Special Agent Series, Moonlight Cove will be released.

Coming in mid October will be the drawing for the winner of the cosmedic gift pack and a signed copy of Ruby Stone will follow once it's released.

While awaiting Ruby Stone & Beyond the Point...

As my fans already know, my sister is a co-author of Beyond the Point, due out this Fall. For those of you who have read Eureka Point, Beyond the Point is the sequel, and you'll be able to follow the mystery and intrigue, and of course the romances between Lizzie and Tom, and also new characters, Abby and Scott.

The even better news is, my sister, Linda and I are already working on another book in the series! Moonlight Cove will hopefully be submitted, contracted and released in the spring of 2012.

For those of you hooked on this series, here's an excerpt (PG) from Beyond the Point:

Lizzie peered out of the back kitchen window and looked at the dead tree way out in the meadow, beyond the left side of the back yard. She thought back to the night when that tree had been struck by lightening. It had been the same night the electricity had been knocked out in a storm that blew through, welcoming her to her new home here.

What a night that had been. She was alone and Tom, who’d hit his head when they’d been in that horrible car accident, was lying unconscious in a hospital bed. How lucky for her that he regained consciousness and his memory two days later. She’d had to fend for herself in a new place and this new house.

She suddenly realized that the wind was really picking up, and she could hear the leaves as they orchestrated a continuous rustle. "So much for dining outside this evening," she said aloud, as if she was talking to someone. Talking to myself, not a good sign. She laughed as she thought about her mother who used to say that it was okay to talk to yourself, as long as you didn’t get an answer.

As she watched the limited light of the day slowly slide into dusk, a chill ran down her spine. She turned to grab her sweater from the back of the kitchen chair, when she, out of pure surprise, was abruptly compelled to stop when a sudden movement at the edge of the property, where the woods met the yard, caught her eye. What was that? Lizzie rubbed her tired eyes. She tried to focus on the area where she had seen the movement. As a baby deer emerged from behind a large tree, she let out a sigh of relief. Get a grip. Maybe I’ve been reading too many murder mysteries.

The first light of morning gently woke me from the warm comfort of slumber. Maggie was there beside me, still asleep. She was beautiful. I wondered if I was dreaming. All the years I had spent alone, waiting for her, and now she was here, and she loved me. I loved her beyond words.

I slowly got up, not wanting to wake her, and pulled on my jeans and shirt. I went outside and stood on the front porch, admiring the magnificence of the sunrise. It was going to be another beautiful day. I had just turned to go back inside when a shot rang out through the thin morning air and a bullet tore through a log at the corner of the front of the cabin. I flew in the doorway, slammed the door, and locked it.

Maggie sat up with terror in her eyes. “Oh my God, no, no. It's him, I know it's him.”

“Maggie, go upstairs now and lock your door!”

“Not without you. We can call the police from the bedroom.”

“Maggie, I know what I’m doing. You go up and lock the door. I have to radio headquarters, and they'll alert the local authorities. I'll be up in two minutes, I promise. Now go! Now!”

Finally she ran up the stairs.

After I radioed headquarters, I grabbed my gun and ran upstairs. I only knocked once before the door flew open and a frightened Maggie flew into my arms. I pushed her back into the room and slammed the door, locking it.

I crouched down below the front window and slowly rose to peer outside. An orange form caught my eye. A man in an orange hunting suit was walking towards the cabin.

He stopped about fifteen feet in front of the porch and yelled, “I'm really sorry, man. It was an accident.”

Cautiously, I opened the window and yelled down to him. “What the hell are you doing shooting so close to the house? This is a restricted area and I'm a federal agent. I don't want to see you around here again. You could have killed me!”

“My rifle misfired, buddy. I'm really sorry. You won't see me again.” And he walked off down the hill and was gone.

“It's okay now, Maggie. It was just a hunter. I radioed the agency. I think I'll let the sheriff show up and give him a statement about the hunter, just to be on the safe side.” I looked up to see Maggie cowering in the corner. I quickly went to her, pulled her close, and held her in my arms.

I must apologize for being MIA for most of the summer but I had some family personal business that I had to take care of.

In celebration of the upcoming release of the 4th book in The Special Agent Series, I've decided to have another awesome contest! Agent Of Mercy will be released at Red Rose Publishing, this Thursday, April 22nd.

The previous contest winner has already selected the name of the next special agent, Ruby Stone. That book is being written at this time and the location has already been written in. BUT, I will continue to write this series for as long as I keep coming up with these stories in my mind. SO, there will be another story after Ruby Stone. Therefore, this contest will be for you, the fans, to enter a location for the book after Ruby Stone. It can be real or made-up. If you make up the name of the place, please briefly describe it (ie. waterfront, oceanfront, mountainess, weather conditions, etc.) You may enter as a comment once per day until May 1st.
